Dave was the Mets' pitching coach for a year and a half, with New York going to the playoffs both seasons. He came from the Dodgers organization originally to serve as a special assistant to general manager Steve Phillips before putting on the blue pinstripes, and after the 2000 season returned to the Dodgers as an assistant to their general manager. He appeared on several baseball cards during his playing and coaching career; the only one I have so far is from the 1984 Cramer Albuquerque Dukes set, pictured here.
