Although the White Rat is certainly best-known as the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals in the '80s, he did in fact serve as a coach for the Mets for one season, and worked with their minor leaguers for several years. Pictured here is his card from the 1961 Post set. Below the stats box is another card from his days with the Cardinals. Whitey was rewarded in December 2009 with election to the Hall of Fame.
