Jack led the Mets in appearances and saves in 1966. He is shown here fresh from that success on his 1967 Topps card. Unfortunately, the event for which he is probably most remembered is that he was the pitcher who delivered the fastball that struck Tony Conigliaro in his face in 1967 and derailed what might have been a Hall-of-Fame career.  Another Jack Hamilton piece is pictured below—a postcard from Jack's nightclub called "The Pzazz," which he operated in Branson, Missouri.  He retired from the restaurant business in 2012 after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, which makes him a brother-in-arms to this website's host.  He died in Branson in early 2018.
