Jack was the Mets' ace from 1964-67, leading the Mets in games started, innings pitched, and losses three times each. Unfortunately, for the Mets of that era, leading the team in games lost was a pretty good indication that you were a pretty good pitcher. Jack racked up a whopping 24 losses in '65 despite an ERA under 4.00; draw your own conclusions. He's pictured here on his 1966 Topps card and below on a couple of other interesting 1960s pieces.
