Imposing slugger who was nearly signed before the 2005 season, Carlos was instead acquired the following winter after a one-year stop in Fishtown. His dedication and leadership proved to be inspirational to the young Mets of '06. Pictured here is his 2003 Stadium Club card; there are many more pictured below.
