I don't believe Casey Stengel ever did really know what Chris' last name was, but that didn't stop him from having a pretty successful career as a backup catcher for quite a few years in the big leagues. He was even named to the National League All-Star team in 1969. The card pictured at the right is from 1965 Topps. Another scan is shown below.
