Departed: traded to the Colorado Rockies with Todd Zeile and cash as part of a three-team trade, January 2002; the Mets sent Lenny Harris and Glendon Rusch to the Milwaukee Brewers; the Rockies sent Craig House and Ross Gload to the Mets; the Rockies sent Alex Ochoa to the Brewers; the Brewers sent Jeff D'Amico, Jeromy Burnitz, Lou Collier, Mark Sweeney, and cash to the Mets

 

A fan favorite at Shea Stadium, the burly Hawaiian came from no-prospect status to become a key component on the 2000 NL Champions. After his big-league tenure was complete, he went to Japan, where he was reunited with manager Bobby Valentine, and rewarded him with a season in which he batted .315 with 35 home runs and 100 RBI.
